The Melbourne-based studio absorbs influences from the places and cities it travels to and finds that such dynamic influences are more important than its heritage. The images of Double Happy incorporate references to pop culture, cartoons, propaganda posters and children’s illustrations into a world of cute and somewhat dark characters in confused and troubled environments.
