What was the thinking behind your artwork?

Gold is a unique colour; it represents power, richness and respectful emotions for me. But these emotions sometimes lead to evil. It is because no-one can resist the powerful temptation of gold. But I love to be on the “dark side”. Just like my creation, the Gold Master, who is the evil hero, inspired by the Japanese anime Golden Warrior Gold Lightan.

If a friend had 24 hours to spend in your city, how should he/she spend them?

Zouk Club, Skin, the Singapore Art Museum, my house and China Square.

Why did you choose to use the particular medium?

I have been doing interactive and print for many years. I wanted to do something that is not related to my professional field. One day I was looking at Michael Lau’s work and was really amazed by his stuff. With some tutorial and online help, I started sculpting and I really enjoy it.

Who/what are the three biggest influences in your work?

Michael Lau, Joshua Davis and Dennis Rodman.


What’s the coolest thing about Asia?

The food.

If you had to do another job, what would you choose ?

Zookeeper.
